Children deserve to be safe, protected and supported to thrive – at home, in schools and online. Sexual violence against children – perpetrated both offline and online – is on the rise all over the world. In our increasingly digital world, protecting children from sexual violence requires building a safer internet.
Our campaign – centered in the experience and knowledge of survivors of childhood sexual violence – is fighting to ensure that the digital world is re-designed and made safe for children. Working with tech companies and governments, and collaborating with partners and allies, we will improve practices and ensure they design a world where every child is safe from sexual violence online.
As the world waited for Apple to launch its new iPhone on September 20th, 2024, the Heat Initiative organized a campaign to spotlight a critical issue at their flagship store in New York City: Apple products are not safe for children and adolescents.
