Emily Laurie is the Director of Global Campaigns at the Brave Movement, working with survivors and allies to mobilize action to end childhood sexual violence all around the world.

A global campaign expert for more than fifteen years, working for major child rights organizations such as Plan International and UNICEF, and working as a senior adviser for two ex-prime Ministers on gender and education, she believes change happens when people with lived experience of an issue are given the right outlet, platform, and support to elevate their voice.

Emily has led visionary advocacy and campaign efforts centered around survivors. From playing a leading role in Malala Day at the United Nations on Malala’s 16th birthday to mobilizing young women with lived experience of child marriage to run campaigns in countries from Bangladesh to Zambia, to leading the global advocacy for a youth survivor centered partnership to end violence in schools, to directing the launch summit of the Brave movement in a consultant capacity.

Working as an independent consultant for many years before joining the Brave Movement permanently has enabled Emily to experience an incredible range of campaign strategies and tactics, she brings with her the best ideas and insights from the climate sector, to malaria, to working for creative campaign agencies.
